Ougeinia oojeinensis, commonly known as the Ujjain Desmodium tree or Sandan, is a medium-sized deciduous tree that typically grows between 6 to 12 meters tall. This tree is native to India and Nepal and has also been introduced to Pakistan.
It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and is commonly found in mixed deciduous forests, preferring well-drained soils and often growing in hilly regions and along riverbanks. The leaves are trifoliate, meaning each leaf is divided into three leaflets that are rigid and leathery.
The tree produces beautiful pink flowers from February to May, which later develop into light brown, linear, flat pods.

Habitat

Ougeinia oojeinensis is native to India and Nepal, and has been introduced to Pakistan, thriving in tropical and subtropical climates.
