Magnolia champaca, commonly known as Champak, is native to the Indomalayan realm. The tree thrives in tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, typically at elevations ranging from 200 to 1,600 meters (660 to 5,250 feet).
Magnolia champaca is a large evergreen tree that can grow up to 50 meters (164 feet) tall. The tree has a narrow, umbelliform crown and strongly fragrant flowers that vary in color from cream to yellow-orange.
