The fruit is small, pear-like, and turns blackish-brown when ripe, with numerous yellow and white dots on its skin.
The tree is native to the Himalayan region and is distributed across countries such as Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Vietnam. It thrives in mid-hill regions at elevations between 750 and 2,600 meters above sea level, growing well in sandy loamy soil that is well-drained and tolerating a wide range of precipitation and temperature conditions.
